Be rewarded while you study

A scholarship assists you in completing your qualification and getting you further on your pathway.

Applications are now closed for Semester 2 scholarships.
 

Eligibility 2017  

Applicants must meet the criteria specific to the category for which they are applying as well as the below criteria: 
  •    Be an Australian Citizen or hold Australian Permanent Residency 
  •    Be enrolled to study full time at North Metropolitan TAFE in Semester 2, 2017 
  •    Not have any outstanding fees from previous study at North Metropolitan TAFE 

The successful applicants will have their scholarship money applied to their fees. 

General scholarships

This semester, scholarships are available in the following categories:

  •   Accounting
  •   Business and Management
  •    Hospitality
  •    Horticulture

Category specific eligibility and award amounts 

HORTICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP
What the scholarship provides 
The 2017 Horticulture Studies scholarship will meet the total cost of the student fees i.e. tuition and resource fees as indicated on the enrolment form for Semester 2, 2017  

Additional Eligibility- Applicants MUST 
  •    Have enrolled as a full time student into a Certificate IV or Diploma of Horticulture program in Semester 2, 2017 
  •    Have achieved competency in all units in the Certificate IV or Diploma program they studied in Semester 1, 2017. 

ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP
What the Scholarship provides 
The 2017 Accounting Studies scholarship will meet the total cost of the student fees i.e. tuition and resource fees as indicated on the enrolment form for Semester 2, 2017  

Additional Eligibility- Applicants MUST 
  •    Have enrolled as a full time student into a Certificate IV or Diploma of Accounting program in Semester 2, 2017 
  •    Have achieved competency in all units in the Certificate IV or Diploma program they studied in Semester 1, 2017. 

BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP 
What the scholarship provides 
The 2017 Business and Management Studies scholarship will meet the total cost of the student fees i.e. tuition and resource fees as indicated on the enrolment form for Semester 2, 2017 fees 

Additional Eligibility- Applicants MUST 
  •    Have enrolled as a full time student into a Certificate IV or Diploma of Business and Management program in Semester 2, 2017 
  •    Have achieved competency in all units in the Certificate IV or Diploma program they studied in Semester 1, 2017. 

HOSPITALITY SCHOLARSHIP  
What the scholarship provides 
The 2017 Hospitality Studies scholarship will meet the total cost of the student fees i.e. tuition and resource fees as indicated on the enrolment form for Semester 2, 2017 fees 

Additional Eligibility- Applicants MUST 
  •    Have enrolled as a full time student into a Certificate IV or Diploma of Hospitality program in Semester 2, 2017 
  •    Have achieved competency in all units in the Certificate IV or Diploma program they studied in Semester 1, 2017. 

Koolark Scholarships
Scholarships specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islan​ders are also available.
Applications are now open until 16 July.
Foyer Oxford Scholarships
These scholarships are for current residents of Foyer Oxford.
Applications are now closed.

Applying for a Scholarship

There are a few steps to apply with the actual application being fully online.

​  1.  Check the award categories to see which scholarship/s for which you are eligible. (see above).
       Applicants must meet the criteria specific to the category for which they are applying as well as the below criteria.

  2.  Ask your lecturer if he/she will fill in your Statement of Support
       Statement of support document

  3.  You then need to provide a document (no more than three pages long) which outlines how you meet the selection criteria.
       In this document, you will need to address:
       a) Your reasons for choosing to study a qualification at North Metropolitan TAFE in 2017
       b) Your personal and career goals
       c) Your personal or community achievements eg. Awards, membership of committees, associations etc.
       d) How you would benefit from the receipt of a scholarship if your application was successful

  4.  When you have all this information together, you then need to fill in our online application form.
       Through this form you can upload your supporting documentation or alternatively you can deliver them to Student Services (Scholarships), at any North Metropolitan TAFE  campus.
