Graduation season kicks off for Creative Industries students

Here is your chance to check out some of the incredible works developed by North Metropolitan TAFE’s Art & Design and Media students!

 • 12 shows make up the season: Product Design, Jewellery, Graphic Design, Photography, Fashion & Textile Design, Music & Radio, Interior Design, Print Communications, Animation & Games Design, Fashion Products & Marketing, Screen & Media (Digital Cinema) and Visual Arts;

 • Grad Shows run from Tuesday 7 November to Wednesday 13 December;

 • Organised by Advanced Diploma and Associate Degree students, the Grad Shows are part of student assessments.

The 2017 season will start with a combined Jewellery and Industrial Design exhibition on Tuesday 7 November at Gallery Central. Wrapping up 2017 is the Visual Arts exhibition on 7 December, also at the Gallery.

“It’s always a surprise and exciting when we get to see what’s been bubbling away behind the scenes,” said Gallery Central Manager Thelma John. “It’s also a bit sad because Grad Show Season is the time we get to know the students better; but then they leave us!”

North Metropolitan TAFE Creative Industries Executive Director Norm Baker said the Creative Industries Grad Shows are a strong and much anticipated yearly tradition at the college.

“Grad Show season is the culmination of many hours of hard work by our dedicated students and staff,” Mr Baker said. “I’d also like to thank our industry sponsors who continuously help our students achieve their ambitions.”

Some shows are open to the public while others are ticketed. For more information, check out the postcard below or contact Gallery Central on 94271318 or gallery@nmtafe.wa.edu.au
